Super Fly
After many years of competing seperately in Super Stock, Modified and Comp, Stacy Shields, Jr., and Will Wardlow combined their efforts, moved froma a garage to a big shop, and fielded this beautiful Norm Paddock Pro Mustang.
Stacy Shields and Will Wardlow have raced a variey of Mod, Comp and Ford SS machinery in Indianapolis for years, but were immediately attracted to Pro Stock, and followed their SS pattern with a Ford Mustang. The Norm Paddock chassis uses Monroe shocks all around, with ladder bars at the rear, all fabricated arms up front, a Lenco Ford 5.67 rear with a set of Schiefer gears, Strange disc brakes, and Cragar wheels mounting Firestone tires all around. The Gapp & Roush 351 engine uses BRC pistons and rods, Speed Pro rings, GK roller cam, Smith pushrods, Manley valves, Edlebrock manifold and Holley 6224 carbs, Accel ignition, Hooker headers, and a Weber Long-style clutch in a Lakewood housing in front of the Lenco four-speed. Black paint by Pennyman's, lettering by Jack's of Indy, upholstery by Mary Wardlow, the T- steering wheel and lots of chrome underneath make for one of the most beautifully and completely detailed Pro cars in the sport. Does Super Fly fly? You bet, brother.
