Gerry's 1978 t-top king cobra was purchased from original owner in 1989. he gave me all the original purchase paper work including the window sticker and i later found the build sheet under the rear seat carpets. originally red with the gold and orange stripes. stripped and repainted in raven black in the fall of 1992.
the paint and decals were very faded but overall the car was in good shape. in order to keep the amount of body work down i replaced the passenger door and front fender due to a large crease caused by a pickup truck in a parking lot. the engine block and left head were cracked so i replaced it with a mild 306. the stock 4 speed was swapped out for a built 1993 cobra t-5 modified with g-force internals. suspension is pretty stock with the exception of poly bushings, lower tubular control arms, lowering front springs, ssm lift bars, and subframe connectors. car is currently running on 15x4 and 15x7 convo pros. interior is standard mustang in black. i replaced the carpets and recovered the front seats. autometer gauges were added, so i could easily remove them easily if i ever wanted to go back to the stock guages. all the king exterior pieces are original to the car including the front brake ducts.
