History:This has been a 4 year project and it is still going on. The car was originally a 78 Cobra II, black with red and orange stripes, but I couldn't find a stripe kit when I painted it! In its current configuration, I changed it to a Mach 1. The interior has new carpet and headliner and red seats from a 92 GT. The drivetrain is an injected 5.0 from a 91 GT that I bought wrecked. The motor has a cobra intake, GT-40 heads, B-303 cam, 24 lb injectors, 1.7 roller rockers, 65 mm throttle body, 77 mm mass air meter. The trans is an AOD with internal mods, a 10" 3500 stall non lock-up converter, hardened input shaft and a manual shift valvebody with trans brake and elec. O.D. The rear end is currently a 8" with 3:55 posi but is now being changed to a 9" with 3:70 gears. The wheels are centerlines 14 x 7 but are now being changed to 15" weld draglites along with a 11" disc brake upgrade from Rod & Custom Motorsports. I hope to have it at the track soon with the current changes in place.
