Owner: Stan Zielinski Year: 1978 Make: Cobra II History: I have had
the car for over 20 years and it still sports all the exterior trim used on the
Cobra II minus the bold striping. Under the skin however is basically a 1966
GT-350 "R" model. I am sort of an old school guy and the "66" 289 puts out a
gnarly 350hp with as many ford factory parts as I could get my hands on
including boss 302 con rods. Other goodies include 289 heads, matched ports, screw in studs, bigger valves, 1.94 I, 1.60E, forged alum. Pistons, 10.5 to1, Cobra hi-rise alum. Intake, Holly 650 dbl. pumper comp. cams Magnum series 280deg. dur. 490 in. lift camshaft and fully balanced, blue printed short blk. assy. The trans, unfortunately is the stock 4 spd. unit but has held up way better than expected. At the rear is a ford 9" out of a "69" bronco sporting 3:89 to 1 gears, Brakes and wheels are a match to the GT 350 R's. I have a wonderful time cruising this car and it does have an awesome presence on the street.
